The Preacher

From SCI-FI Wire:
HBO is developing a one-hour series based on the popular 1990s Vertigo comic series Preacher, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Steven Johnson, who directed the comic-book adaptations Daredevil and the upcoming Ghost Rider for the big screen, is writing the pilot.

(Shudder)
Wow, the director of Daredevil and Ghost Rider; with pedigree like that this adaptation can only be a success.

For those of you who're unfamiliar with The Preacher, the article gives an excellent synopsis:

The comic series, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, ran from 1995 to 2000, [...] told the story of a down-and-out Texas preacher possessed by a supernatural entity conceived by the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. Given immense powers, the preacher sets out with an old girlfriend and a hard-drinking Irish vampire on a journey across America to find God—who apparently had abandoned his duties in heaven—and hold him accountable for his negligence.

Off to Brisbane tonight. Wish me luck!

how did you get on?

DKIT held a training morning on saturday - Doru did a load of bladework with the boys and girls and I ran a team comp on the electrics DKIT have bought for the club.

Sunday half the club fenced at the Open. A couple got victories against non-DKIT fencers which was pleasing. Big J-B Landy lost 15-14 in his L16 match!

most important was that they gave a decent account of themselves - most defeats were 5-3 rather than 5-0...distance and tactics OK - have to work on their bladework...all in all not bad for guys fencing just 2 months!

WF is very exciting at the moment - any of the top 4 could have won the thing.
