Just Deserts

I succeeded in doing in my back last week and as a result I ended up spending much of the weekend watching sport on the TV. I saw a dismal performance from the Irish in the 2nd International Rules test. I saw Wales and Australia draw in an excellent match in the Rugby Union. I laughed hard when the Aussies lost to Great Britain in the Rugby League Tri-Nations.

Take a look at this clip from the Tri-Nations match:

The thug delivering the blow is Willie Mason, he's what they call an "enforcer" for the Kangaroos. Essentially his job is to beat up players on the other team.

However last week in their match with New Zealand, Mason got more then he bargained for when he was spotted swearing at the Haka by Kiwi David Kidwell - who, as an aside, plays for the best named sports team of all time: The Melbourne Storm.

Sweet. I especially like the way there's absolutely no retaliation from the Aussies. In fact, is that a quick grin on the face of one of Mason's team mates?

Ooops off to go watch the Melbourne cup now bye!

...

Nice! Delta Blues won the race, landing me the company sweep!

Hello!

I've just found your blog again (I found it but then couldn't remember where I found it and forgot about it.
Your old work posts are funny.

I'm surprised Marcos hasn't posted yet, must've been a busy day in work or something?

Hope you're having fun in Sydney!

quite busy, yes...and no fencing forum this week either!

news from here - richard noonan is giving coaching a go and has joined the UCD backroom staff on a trial basis...so far doing very well .

two DKIT fencers joined Pembroke 1 and 2 in the Trinity Cup and did pretty well (e.g Brian got a total of 8 points off hugh in the course of two bouts including defending a 20-11 lead to win victory for Pembroke against UCC 25-21 ). Hermitage, Lennon, O'Connor, McNamee have all helped up in dundalk - without them the club wouldn;t have gained the momentum it has. DKIT are entering a joint team with DCU into the intervarsities - working title for the team is "North Leinster Alliance"...codename is "Project 2010" - hope is a joint DCU/DKIT team could challenge for the title in 2010

UCD got gold and silver in the Trinity Cup...UCD 3 got to the L8, with Oisin McDermot getting the UCD MVP award after defeating Colin Couper. Trinity seem to have a very strong team, though, and at the moment the colours and intervarsities look to be too close to call.

Dillon has the flu so i haven't slept in 3 days (lots of all-night coughing) - however, he has discovered stickers so is happy.

Owen has started fencing in france and is learning to cook omelette.

Rachel's wrist is still poorly.
