D&D Nostalgia
Sigh. My Mum dropped off a box of old "Dragon" magazines to me last week and over the long weekend I flicked through several of them.
Ahhh nostalgia. I find myself dreaming of the old RPG games we used to play during the summers in Wicklow. When I wasn't a GM I was playing a sociopathic Hobbit thief named "Rolander" in Tolkien's Middle Earth. We must have spent days on end playing away.
I was wondering if I could start a campaign again. I think it would be fantastic to dust off the old D&D games and campaign supplements and together with a party of brave heroes rid the world of evil wizards and unruly Orks.
I don't have a clue where I could get the time or for that matter the players. Still a search of the net confirms that my favorite hobby of years gone past is still alive and active. Take a look at these sites for info on the original D&D games and it's world "Mystara"
Wizards of the Coast - The official D&D site. It looks as though TSR sold the rights for D&D to this company.
Vaults of Pandius - A fantastic looking site which has loads of details of the world of Mystara.
Mystaran "Net" Almanac This is an attempt to chronicle the "future history" of Mystaria. Takes up where the old TSR published almanacs left off.
A Ravenloft/Mystara site - A site dealing with a crossover of the Ravenloft campaign and a Mystaran one. (Included because this was once something I planned for my own campaign).
